Happy Day That I Don't Have to Go Out to the Mailbox! This is the second one in a row, which rarely happens, but it's going to happen again next week, for the new year. I might be around to see it, though to be honest I'm a bit surprised that I'm around to see today, I felt so crappy when I collapsed into bed late Sunday night. But I've survived yet another bout of terminal hypochondria, though it's inevitable that my bad luck will soon run out and I'll kick the proverbial bucket, spilling dusty old proverbs all over the place. I hope my heirs can get the cleaning deposit on the apartment back after that.

At some point on this grayish morning (or will it be afternoon by then) I need to use of some waffle batter that's been sitting in the refrigerator for three or four days. That is apt to be the most interesting event to happen here all day. The next most important will be starting a new batch of cold brew coffee. I just finished drinking the last one. I really need to get some sort of filtering system for that stuff. Maybe there will be a used Melita system I can pick up at a thrift shop, because I can't find any stores around here that are selling them new. The disposable paper filters, which are the thing I'll need most, are still plentiful.

Where was I? Oh, I was doping off. And I don't even have any dope. I guess I just got up too early after not sleeping very well. It's a good thing I've got no commitments today. But oh, this odd little piece of sticky rubber I just found on the table appears to fit a spot on the underside of my keyboard. The keyboard has been wobbly for a couple of days. I wonder if there's a connection? And it looks like there is. The wobble is fixed! Thanks, Santa! I wasn't expecting anything this year. Never doubt the power of Claus. Yule be sorry.
