Time to cobble together a few random thoughts (or what will pass for thoughts) to serve as a journal entry, so I will have evidence that a day passed on which I didn't. It was called Wednesday, I believe, and... yes, the magic calendar which appears on the mysterious computer confirms that today is Thursday, and as the two days follow invariably (as far as we know) in sequence, yesterday was indeed Wednesday, or, as it was known to the ancient Feline civilizations, Wet Nose Day. And see how my cleverly improvised sentences, containing both facts and fancies, generate the appearance of significance? This is a trick I learned when, as a young boy, I was apprentice to a wizard... or perhaps not. Maybe it's just the art of bullshitting, which comes naturally to some of us. Especially to those of us who spent some time... but not too much... in college. Does anyone generate the illusion of meaning as effectively as an English major? I think not.

Is that enough, do you suppose? I did not sleep well in the heat, and I'm tired, and I haven't had my breakfast donut, so I want to be done with this and get on with my day, such as it is likely to be. The forecast is that it will be about ten degrees less hot than Wednesday, and thus, though still not pleasant, less like being dragged through hell by demons. I might even find a moment here or there when I am less than utterly horrified by my consciousness of the world. One such moment could well be when I eat that donut, which has been too long delayed. From here on out the world will have to do without my wisdom, as it invariably does. Go about your business. Nothing to see here but a desperate old geezer flailing about as he drowns in a vat of used-up words. Have a nice day.
