What Rough Beast?
Aug. 12th, 2002 05:56 amFor the last few nights, I have heard some creature struggling over the fence to my back yard, and passing under my window. It sounds larger than a raccoon. Yesterday, I noticed a pile of dung under the mulberry tree. It isn't raccoon droppings, or deer droppings, and certainly not from a domestic animal of any sort. It is black and crumbly and full of what look to be cherry pits, though the season for cherries here is over. Someone must be leaving store-bought cherries out for the animals. I've tried to get a look at the creature, but it always eludes me. I'd sure like to know what it is. I'm thinking I might call animal control and see if they have someone who can come out and look at the spoor, and identify the beast.
