Reset Fifty, Day Forty-Three

rejectomorphThere is a glitch, or gliotch, as I believe the kids say (or maybe not) in my shopping plans. It turned out that both nephew and niece have gone out of town for a few days. When I attempted to reach backup nephew, it turned out that he too had gone out of town. There is second backup nephew, but as he tends to be unreliable I didn't call him. I decided that I would wait until next week for groceries. There are only a couple of items I'm likely to run out of, and perhaps I can get someone to make a special run to pick them up. I have a paper coupon for six bucks good at the non-Safeway store, so it would be a good chance to get that used. We shall see, I suppose.
I did not sleep well Thursday despite the slightly cooler weather, but I did make a fairly decent dinner at a reasonable hour, and have some hope that I will sleep better tonight, or today, as it soon will be. Today is supposed to be the uncommonly cool(for August) day, and the chance of some rain overnight Friday/Saturday is now at 70%. It's supposed to get all the way down to 59 degrees early Saturday morning. If the rain is significant, it could help dampen the fire, which last I heard was 63% contained. I don't think this storm is supposed to bring any lightning with it. If it did that could change the whole outlook. It could dampen one fire while setting more.
While sleeping badly I got my neck out of place, and it's been bothering me all day. I know I have to expect that sort of thing at my age (and with my lack of proper self-care over the decades) but it still annoys the hell out of me. I'd say it chaps my ass, but I don't want to speak words of omen. With all the other crap I've got going the last thing I need is a chapped ass. My ass is way too big for the one tube of Chapstick I've got on hand. Plus I'd probably get my shoulders out of joint trying to reach it.
I forgot to open the windows and turn on the fan until three o'clock this morning, but it's gotten so cool out that the apartment is already down to 73 degrees from the 79 it was a little over an hour ago. That's the kind of weather I like. And it's going to be even cooler tomorrow night, plus there could be rain. The night air is smelling damp already. I doubt I'll even mind that I won't be getting my groceries.
