51/77: Leftover

rejectomorphWednesday I made a big dinner, and now I can have leftovers for Thanksgiving. I've always found Thanksgiving leftovers better than Thanksgiving dinner. I'd be willing to bet that many people find that big holiday meals are totally ruined by the onerous task of preparing them. For me, practically every big meal is ruined by the task of preparing it, onerous or not, because I'm a crappy cook, but that's whole other story.
In any case, on this occasion the meal I prepared Wednesday actually turned out pretty good, so I look forward to disposing of the leftovers down my gullet over the next few days, and even later, as there will be enough to freeze several portions. I just hope there's room in my freezer for them. If not, I'll be able to make a bit more room by baking the frozen pumpkin pie I bought in lieu of the store bakery pie which was not on sale. The complications in my life sometimes provide serendipitous opportunities.
I won't need to go out into the sunny afternoon chill today since there will be no mail delivery. I might, however, open the bedroom blinds and let the afternoon sun fall across my bed while I nap. I'm not really sleepy, but the number of afternoons a year provides for napping in the sunlight are quite limited here, due both to the excessive width of the building's eaves and due to the tendency of the valley sky to remain overcast through so much of the season when the sunlight is able to reach the bed. And I never know when, at my age, such a propitious afternoon as this might be the last I ever get.
While I'm waiting for the sun to come around to the right position, here's a video I've been watching for a couple of days: New Order's 1993 release "Regret." But I regret nothing! Everything! One of those! Maybe both, at various times!
