But, why won't they just admit that the K6-II is crap?

Sluggo just ate this evening's entry before I could save it to the clip board. Another hour of work down the digital toilet of the AMD K6-II. (Buy Intel.) When I finally replace Sluggo with a real computer (Intel inside), everyone is invited to a Sluggo annihilation party. Bring sledgehammers.

The whole K6 family is totally intolerant of heat. They need a huge heatsink and thermal grease. You also can't overclock them. I've built exactly 1 K6 system. My mom has it now. It's only a little cranky. I'm sure it would be worse if it was left on all day. All the other computers I've built since then have used Intel CPUs.
