52/461: Drowse
Jun. 9th, 2026 11:04 pmTemperatures inching up, heading for Hell's weekend. Starting Thursday we get six consecutive days with triple digit highs. One good thing is that the fire that started yesterday is farther away than I'd thought. Google thinks I'm in Sacramento County and miscalculated the distance for me.
It's actually as close to San Jose as it is to the mini-metropolis. I get whiffs of smoke, but they are faint and infrequent. So far we aren't even getting firefighting planes flying over. The fire is about 40% contained already, and probably won't explode to massive size. That will be other fires, later in the season.
As I didn't get a nap today, it's almost bedtime. The fan has been on for a couple of hours, and the place is approaching comfortable, perhaps for the last time for a while. I should eat a bit first, but cooking is out of the question. Sandwich? Microwave? Canned goods? We shall see. But the oven? Right out!
