Crashlessness (so Far)

About four hours online last night and today, with no crash! ::crosses fingers and is unable to type:: And last night was the first chilly night of the summer. And today is grey and overcast. I love the first grey days of the year. Depressing weather makes me so happy!

I live in Butte County, California, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada about 100 miles north of Sacramento. Summers tend to be pretty hot here, so the few cool days are welcome.

Oh, I'm from Southern California. Santa Monica to be exact. So it's pretty hot all of the time here.

I like Santa Monica. I used to hang out there when I lived in L.A.- there were some very good book stores along the 3rd Street Mall. And some decent inexpensive places to eat. Is Campos still around? There is nothing up here as good as their Horneado Burrito.

Yup, Campos is still around. True about the book stores, I don't really hang out there much, though.

a paradox! but true. shadowed (not depressing) weather does have its charm and beauty. i love the tropical rains of my country and city. they are ongoing for now and so very inconvinient but i love them.
everything seems full of life and its pleasant. the summer was getting on to me.

Most of California rarely receives rain in summer. A cloudy day in August usually remains dry. We get our rain in winter, when it is usually cold, or in spring, when the temperature is mild. Except for a few occasions, I have never experienced heavy rain in warm weather, and then only for a few hours. The Monsoon would probably make me crazy after a few days.
