My in-box just topped two hundred for the first time.

That makes me feel so important! As though it weren't actually the result of too much distraction!

I need a break. I also need to go to Chico (alas), as the local camera repair guy says he can't fix the battery in my camera. The repair guy in Chico not only can, but says he has the replacement in stock. Now, all I need to do is make the arrangements to get down there. I figure I'll be able to do that, oh, around March or April.

I need a break, and I need to live in a place less isolated.

And some sleep.

I see that we have some similar interests; I keep most of my diary at diaryland, and a friends only journal here, but I've seen your writing through daisy's journal. (You are welcome to add me if you like, but I read your earlier point about how long your friend list is becoming and understand why you wouldn't want to add to it)

Hi! Sure, go ahead and add- though I almost never do friends only posts, so it's easy to read my journal without adding me. (I like to pretend that I have loads of lurkers reading me, as well as all those government agents who have been assigned the task of monitoring my every word. :-D)

thanks- I was attracted to your journal because of your earlier posts about mulberry trees and your tendency to dwell in memories- and one particular mulberry tree figures prominently in my childhood memories- so there ya have it.

As for lurking govt. agents, well I can only claim previous employment as a quasi-agent of the government- does that count? I made that sound much more mysterious than it was.

I confess to lurking a bit. I read some comment you'd made, found it interesting, so checked out the journal. I really enjoyed your recent post about memory, and found that quite a few of my own surfaced.

The mulberry in my front yard is of the fruitless variety. It's one of those trees which, if not cut back every few years, soon becomes a one-tree jungle, taking over the entire yard. It makes a nice, dense shade in summer, though. But I'm pretty sure this particular tree works for the FBI.
