Storming

Our gentle spring rain has turned into a torrential storm of the sort we ought to have had last winter. There is even snow falling on the now closed ski resorts of the higher regions. Further, it is expected to last through Saturday. There might be thunder and lightning, as well! Right now, I'm hearing gusts of wind, and a continual clattering of water overflowing from the clogged gutters. Wintry April night of creaks and moans, like returning to a troubled dream after a brief waking into silent calm. Dawn will not come so much as darkness will seep back into the black pavements and tree boles, while high branches dance windblown against emerging gray clouds. There are always surprises.
