Hmmm. My entire journal appeared to be missing. I got the front page, but it showed 0 entries. The 0 most recent entries, to be exact. I clicked on it again, and it was back, but the style is now changed. No longer Generator, it has reverted to the basic LJ style, but in gray. I remember the good old days when the weirdest thing that happened around here was that Frank the Goat would occasionally turn mauve. These days, there's no telling what's going to happen. Maybe I ought to back up everything on a Deadjournal.

I'm glad it is not just me that is experiencing this. But I also hope that my year's worth of entries aren't gone forever.

At 2:31 am GMT on Tuesday, July 29th, Admin denisep writes :

Journals on the ribeye cluster might find their entries temporarily missing, due to users being moved between clusters a server permissions error. After a few moments, the entries should return.

Update: We're still trying to track the source of this problem. Some of the webservers cached their permissions on database connections, so the problem continues to permeate throughout accounts.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Update again: We've resolved the problem with entries not appearing, but due to database caching, your journal may appear in the default style, rather than in the style you've set it to be. We're fixing that, but the fix takes a while, so your journal may display oddly throughout the night. It will be fixed, however.

To improve the problem of site slowness, we're swapping the syndication database with the global master database, since the syndication database is a lot faster. Because of this, syndicated accounts won't be available for a while tonight.

Thanks for bearing with us today, and we apologize for all of the problems. Please be assured, we are working to fix them as quickly as we can.
