Thanks. :) I don't often engage in political debates, mainly because I have a hard time getting the facts together. (I'd like to be able to cite the sources of my claims, but I'm not very well organized and have lost track of most of them.) :P
I think that I'm actually in substantial agreement with Insomnia on most matters, but probably a bit less pessimistic. Sooner or later, I do expect to be banned from a few journals- I've already been asked (with an unintentionally funny mock-politeness) not to post in one. It doesn't bother me if people don't want to listen to me. There are many times when I'd rather not listen to myself, so I can't blame them.
I find it more disturbing when people think that they have understood me when they have not. I just checked the page where this debate went on, and found a new anonymous post from someone who altogether missed the point I was making about Social Security. Now I think I'll have to go re-explain myself. Although, since it is an anonymous post, I might just forget about it.
