Temporal Disaster

I depend on the light that makes its way through the curtains of my west-facing window to wake me in the afternoons. Today, there was not enough light. The heavy clouds turned afternoon to twilight. So, even though I got to sleep not long after seven, I did not wake at three. I slept ten hours. Now I am possessed by that muddled grogginess which follows an excess of wandering in the land of Morpheus. I shall be useless all night! Upon waking, I had but a glimpse of dim evening before full darkness swallowed the world. Dinner, I fear, will be delayed.
