Sun is coming up earlier every day, and the birds with it. The first blue jay screech sounds at about ten minutes past five now. Natures little alarm clocks and mobile kitty larder. And it is about this time that the last of the previous day's heat at last dissipates, leaving my room just right for sleeping under four blankets. It's as though the house holds its breath all night, then exhales all at once and lets the cold night air flood in. My house hates me, Sluggo hates me, my house hates Sluggo... turns out that the enemy of my enemy is not my friend. Another traditional belief down the tubes!

I keep getting the feeling that there's something that needed to be done which I haven't gotten around to. Oh well. It will come to me as soon as I'm cozy under the covers, I'm sure.

Wait! I remember! The other day I said that the Transit of Venus would occur in a couple of days. No. It isn't until June 8th. Just wanted to get that straight. It doesn't do to piss off the Goddess of Love.

rock ... paper ... scissors?

I just noticed that sun thing this morning, when the other half left for work at 5, he turned on the kitchen light, which isn't the usual practice. A few minutes later I got up to turn off the light he'd left on, but he didn't leave it switched on. And yep, the birdies were chirping already.

Pissing off Venus\Eros\Aprhrodite\ is generally a bad thing, but, I can't imagine issues of chronology are going to make her lose it.
