It's getting hot again. All afternoon there is a buzzing of bees, and the air is parched. Clouds hang over the higher mountains, but fail to bring their shade here. Evening brings the smell of burning. I hope it is only someone taking advantage of the balmy weather to have a barbecue, but the dessicated fields and forest are primed for a brush fire. At least the recent winds have gone, reducing the danger. I wish the rain would return.
