Here in Michigan, we are experiencing 30-60 mph wind gusts, as a cold air mass displaces warmer air and an upper level low pressure system drives the currents.
I could not help when reading your post of thinking how disasterous such winds would be in your area now. The fires would be stoked beyond control.
