There was either a very loud noise which woke me up, or I dreamed there was a very loud noise, and woke up. I looked at the clock, and it was only 11:30 in the morning, so I closed my eyes and went back to sleep. Next thing I knew, it was dusk. There were dreams during those five hours, but I recall only vague shards of them. The cat was in one of them, and brought me a gift. I thought it was an acorn, but I looked closer and it turned out to be a dark ruby. This never happens in waking life. No wonder I find it hard to wake up.
Very early this morning, the sun, still concealed below the horizon, turned the ceiling of clouds a remarkably lurid shade of red, and the morning light became pink. I hoped for a similar effect at sunset, but it didn't happen. I mean the pink light didn't happen. Sunset happened, or it wouldn't be dark out right now, and I wouldn't be seeing the moonlight play across the drift of clouds. The slightly gibbous planet itself appears and vanishes among them, as inconstant as my thoughts.

The Great LiveJournal During the outage, I carefully cleaned my fingerprints from that red button I accidentally hit, (sorry), and then I told Sluggo to keep his virtual mouth shut. Brought to you by geek-foo |
