So I've got all the stuff I need for setting up the machine, as far as I know. I can't find an external AC-DC adapter among all the detritus in the boxes. It isn't mentioned in the (minimalist) instructions, so maybe it's inside the tower? I'm not opening the damned thing to find out. I don't want the Jinn to escape. Anyway, it may be that I'll have to summon a nephew to help set the thing up. How long before one is available, I don't know. For the time being, the room is a mess, with open boxes and computer parts scattered everywhere. The cat is disturbed. I'm annoyed. The setup is supposed to be done in about fifteen minutes. Nobody said that the fifteen minutes referred to was about fifteen minutes before Hell freezes over. There's too much stuff that likes to pretend to be other stuff.

I've never gotten along well with technology. Technology and I have a fundamental disagreement. I think things should be simple and sensible. Technology thinks things should be insanely complicated. It's all part of Technology's plan to take over the world. Someday, the machines will kill us all.

Sluggo gets at least one more day. This is not good, as the house has turned hot despite the day having been reasonably cool. I think that this house may be serving as a heat sink for the entire town. Outside, I need a jacket tonight. In this room, I ought to be wearing shorts and a T shirt.

Oh, and I heard a flock of ducks flying over a while ago. I like ducks. They don't need to be plugged in.

I'm guessing you didn't get one of those dell deals.
I got the box and was set up about 20 minutes after we got Adele out of the packaging.
only needed the teenager to hold the box while I pulled it out.

Towers usually don't need AC-DC adapters.

Did they ship your new machine from the Bizarro World?

And to think I was wondering what you would find to write about in the <post-sluggo era. :)

They don't need to be plugged in.

They don't need to be, but they're extremely entertaining when they are.
