It feels as though we've gone from winter to summer in two days. Evening has brought a thin overcast, but the afternoon was sunny and verging on hot. I saw butterflies. A squirrel came and sat under the mulberry tree for a while, snacking on something I was unable to identify. The dogwood trees grow more colorful, and the mulberry blossoms have stopped spewing pollen. Still, it's only early April, and as pleasant as the warm day was, I'd be still more pleased by a return to the normal moodiness of the month.

It looks as though I won't be able to set up Thunderbird as my e-mail client. As much as I dislike Outlook Express, it's the only client that works well with my e-mail service. I've also downloaded (but not yet installed) the Lochjournal LJ client. I might try Semagic, too, though I was displeased to find that its spellcheck program only works if you have Internet Explorer installed (I don't know if Lochjournal has a spellcheck program at all.) I'm trying to do without IE completely. It's bad enough that I'll probably have to have OE installed. I'd like to keep the computer as minimally Microsofted as possible.

Off to look for more Firefox extensions.

Edit: LochJournal is being very cranky. Windows shut it down. I don't think I'll be able to use it.

IE components are scattered throughout Windows.

It's can't be removed even if you don't use it.
