Sky, Sky, Sky

Early this evening, there was sufficient clearing that I could see a bright but fuzzy Venus in the southwest. Now there are several patches of stars visible. It's very quiet after the rain. As it continues to be only partly cloudy, I might see the moon once it rises, and there might be a bit of sunlight tomorrow, but the rain is likely to return by Wednesday. The higher elevations have gotten as much as 18 inches of snow, but if the next storm is a warm as the one that just passed, I doubt we'll be getting any white stuff here anytime soon. It's just as well. I don't feel like doing any shoveling. My back was achy when I woke today. I think I overdid the Christmas cookie (an entire cookie at once yesterday!) Anyway, feeling as though a large dog had spent the night sleeping on my kidneys makes sitting at the keyboard very uncomfortable. No more computer for a few hours.
