A curious, faintly red glow to the south, as though fields were burning. But they wouldn't be burning in this wet time. It's probably the lights around the quik-mart (or whatever it's called), reddened by some quirk of this thin fog. Not so many stars tonight, after all. The clouds have returned, making the night seem a bit like last night being run in reverse. The air is still mild, too, the softness of it almost like spring. No rain has fallen for a full day, but I still hear the occasional drip of water in the downspout. The rain gutter must be dammed with leaves. Other than that, the night is utterly still. Nice.
It's both Saturday, and the day before Xmas. Nobody will be here, right?
