Breathe

As the nights grow warmer, the scent of jasmine grows more powerful and persistent. Jasmine is a scent to which I don't grow accustomed. Upon moving here, I found the scent of pine overpowering for the first couple of days, but soon grew so accustomed to it that I no longer noticed it. But once that jasmine perfume saturates the air, it never leaves my awareness. Now it is so intense that the air seems thickened by it, and I have been conscious of it with every breath I've taken for hours. This would not be a problem except for the fact that I still have a bit of a headache from the recent displacement of that vertebra in my neck. I'm now quite sure that the jasmine will suffocate me in my sleep.

It's too bad I'm going to be dead before I wake, as I've discovered that I don't need a new surge protector after all. Apparently, a CD I dropped the other day hit the rocker switch and turned the thing off. I reset it and it works fine. So, maybe it isn't such a bad thing that I'm going to be dead before I wake, after all. I just might be too stupid to live.
