Yes there were meteors, there were something like 20 an hour expected (or something like that) but naturally I couldn't see them because Scotland was covered in a thin haze of cloud, which reflected the neon nicely but was somewhat inappropriate for star gazing. We get these meteor warnings on our weather forcasts, which is nice. Going to have to buy a telescope sometime - mainly to gaze at the planets. I want to see Saturn's rings... although such is Scotland's weather I'd be lucky to see our local chip shop a block away.
