Day Crashes
Oct. 7th, 2006 04:21 amThe dogwoods are beginning to show deep shades of red among their green leaves. Piles of raked pine needles now stand like miniature haystacks along the street. Certain other trees have released swaths of gold to conceal the gray pavements here and there. The onset now clear, I don't even need the cold which creeps under the door with nightfall to tell me that autumn is here.
Other things happen; A crane fly just tried to kill itself by flying dangerously close to a bubbling pot of soup I'm making. I, on the other hand, merely flung my gaze into the clouded evening sky and ended up distracted to the point of speechlessness for hours. I'm unsure which of us is more foolish.
