I'm using the actual Internet Explorer a the moment. Usually, I use the Juno 5.0 browser which is based on IE. But, when I opened Juno's home page, IE crashed and was shut down, and took most of my task bar with it. I was unable to disconnect my modem. The little green icons showing communication (do those things have a name?) were gone. I opened IE, and it seems to be working OK. But I have no idea how I'm ever going to disconnect the modem, now. Maybe, if I wait, doing nothing, Juno will disconnect me automatically, and I won't have to shut dow the computer the bad way. Man, computers are weird!

(And I've got a headache.)

If it's a dialup (narrowband)...
- My Computer
- Dialup Networking
- Right-click the connection
- Disconnect.

Rebooting the computer while connected to the Internet in any fashion will disconnect you properly, then shut down.

So, just reboot. If that's an option at all.

THANKS!....Often have the same sort of problems

Dial-up connected, very slow and ornery machine...that also sometimes refuses to disconnect. I always resorted to shutting down the "bad way". Next time,(and undoubtedly there will be a next time) I'll try Scott's suggestion.
