Confusions

We'll be getting April showers anytime now. I'd be pleased to see them while the sun was still abroad, but the clouds have not yet grown sufficiently fat to provide them. Sunlight persists in breaking through the gray every few minutes, brightening the landscape which is now a strange mixture of blooming plants and green lawns and bare, bony trees. I can still smell last autumn's fallen leaves moldering under the wild plum bushes near my window. That smell will grow stronger once the rain begins to fall, most likely sometime tonight. The only season missing from the day has been summer. I'm sure we'll get plenty of that soon enough though.
I've slept for about half of the last 24 hours, so I'm running way late again. Thus I must be brief, and will dispense with the usual Sunday LJ cut.
Sunday Verse
by Yang-ti, Emperor of the Sui dynasty
The evening river is level and motionless-
The spring colors just open to their full.
Suddenly a wave carries the moon away
And the tidal water comes with its freight of stars.

Flowers and Moonlight on the Spring River
by Yang-ti, Emperor of the Sui dynasty
The evening river is level and motionless-
The spring colors just open to their full.
Suddenly a wave carries the moon away
And the tidal water comes with its freight of stars.
