I thought the tizzy caused by the story of the lost humpbacked whales swimming up the Sacramento River was merely regional, but here it is on the website of Reuters India. Around here it's been the favorite story on television for days. The Sacramento CBS affiliate is even running a "Name the whales" contest. The whales are a mom and her calf, and mom has to be the dumbest whale in the pod to go swimming up the river when the rest of the whales all managed to stay out. Britney?
