Yesterday I got my head yanked, and that made today seem terribly dull by comparison. In fact, it's probably me who is duller on days when I'm not doing something interesting such as getting my head yanked. Today really wasn't much different from yesterday, except for being a bit cooler due to some clouds which had gathered yesterday evening, turning the sunset slate and pink, and lingered through this morning. Afternoon found me sitting on the back porch. A hummingbird inspected my head but found it lacking nectar and quickly departed. Its beating wings sounded like a cat purring very, very fast.

The birds won't starve. There are plenty of flowers.
