Pleasantly Dull

Another gray day, this one featuring an uncommonly large assortment of woodpeckers,pecking at tree after tree all afternoon. If they'd peck at all the trees at once, they'd make quite a rhythm section. Then it drizzled a bit more and they went away, and before I knew it night fell.

Aside from this, nothing in particular happened. I sort of liked that.

I was reading this entry, and my eye wandered partway through the first line, so it read:

I had to startle myself to read again.

Heh. No. There used to be an uncommonly large—or at least uncommonly loud—ass in the neighborhood, but I haven't heard it bray for years now. It's likely that somebody built houses on its pasture.
