Evidence that I'm still way too easily entertained, perhaps, but this just made my day:

Hoatske

If you don't get why, it's probably best not to ask.

It has turned very cold here, though the days remain bright with the clouds confined to great, white heaps towering above the mountains. The high temperatures have been in the fifties for the last couple of days, and the nightly lows have dipped into the thirties, but if rain arrives as expected next Monday then it will get a bit warmer. By then I expect almost all the leaves to be down. Loads of pine needles have fallen, and quite a few cones also litter the ground. December is going start off Decembery! And I'm going to start December off with some hot tea and a windmill cookie!

You know, you've just inspired me. For 20 years now I've been brewing the occassional load of home brewed beer and wine, and I love to label them. Recently I bottled a batch of brown ale, and I'm going to label it Scruttock's Old Dirrigible, which is a reference to an Alexie Sale routine. When I first started I wanted to do brands which were totally against the grain of commercial beer, so I did Beer Of the Living Dead, which had a zombie on the label holding a bottle, and one of my first batches I called Graverobber Beer, with a drawing of an open grave and a fridge on it's side like a freshly unearthed coffin, with an arm hanging out from under the door. The slogan was "Keep a cold one in the fridge". But now, I see the next phase - Goatse! I see a full-colour label, with an effect like bare brown glass, beaded with condensation, is being revealed behind the retracted orrifice. "Goatse Beer - Too Good To Hide!" Something like that.

It's a rich vein to mine: "Tubgirl Lager - A Fountan Of Flavour!" "Lemon Party Stout - Aged and Mellowed." And, of course, "Two Girls One Cup - Good Enough To Share!"
