More gray than sunny, the day would have been restful but for the hammering next door. They are working on their roof. Despite the stormy appearance of the sky, I doubt they need to rush. This is turning out to be a terribly dry March. In fact, in Sacramento there's been no measurable rain at all, making it (so far) that city's driest March ever. At least in the mountains we've gotten a little bit of actual rain.

However, there is now the possibility that living in the mountains means that I'm at risk of being eaten by a wolverine. It could be out there right now!

But #$!&@* the heck? Arnold Zwicky at Language Log discuses obscenicons, unclaricons, and Get Fuzzy. Plus #$!&@* the heck?

Streamlining! YouTube preserves the ex-future!

Among the pioneers of streamlining was Nash. My dad had one when I was a kid. I can't recall if his was made just before or just after the war, but he bought it used when I was about five or so, retiring the Ford Model A with the hole in the floorboards through which I used to watch the pavement go by. I peed through it a couple of times, too. Don't tell.
