The cicadas have begun their shrill summer chirring, though they are not yet so numerous as to make the outdoors unpleasant at night. They are one of my least favorite insects, though. Given a choice, I'd much prefer to have the crickets singing solo all summer long. Well, maybe an owl or two could join in. Or maybe an owl or two could eat those cicadas?

I hope the temperature doesn't keep going back up, as it did today. I could use an ocean voyage about now, for, heaven rest us, I'm not asbestos.

I though I had more time available tonight, but look at the clock! Rats!
