Another mild day has finally arrived, and my window is freshly cleaned so I have a view of it unfiltered by cobwebs and dust. Though a few clouds have formed, it's still not quite autumnal, but I'm content with late summery. The first raking probably won't have to be done for a few days yet, unless we get a strong wind to bring down more of the drying leaves. It's a perfect time to laze about, watching the spider silk drift.

The Internets brought a fresh delight as well. It is a Flickr photo set of goats grazing on Bunker Hill in downtown Los Angeles. This is my particular favorite, as I detest the apartment building in the background and can fantasize the goats undermining it and making it collapse. This picture of a watched goat watching the photographer is amusing. I suspect the people in the background of contemplating the removal of a goat to their dining table. Goat, I've been told by those who've eaten it, is pretty tasty.

Lots of violence in that paragraph.

The lot in the picture is directly across from Grand Central Market and adjacent to the Angel's Flight's new location. People have forgotten that it was moved but not that it did a bad thing after being moved. It has not been operated since the incident.
When you look out from the front of the market the apartment building with all the balconies is right over the tunnel. I was told it is senior housing. Maybe we can get on the waiting list and move in there before the big one.
We rode Angel's Flight many times in our trips Downtown. In it's old location alongside the approach
to the tunnel it operated continuously for years. I guess it had to be moved so they could build that
apartment building. So indirectly that building is the reason it malfunctioned.
Not to worry tho, the goats are safe.
