Falling

The recent hail of acorns seems to be slowing. Maybe the squirrels followed my orders and harvested them so they wouldn't fall on my head. I won't have to wear a hoodie when going into the back yard. Well, I could still wear one at night if I want to keep my ears warm. It's getting very chilly these nights, though the days remain balmy.

Boo, Internets! I've had a free e-mail account at Excite! for several years. It was always a pretty decent service. A few months ago they began a revamp which sent my browsers into conniptions. They've finally fixed it so I can get back to my Inbox using Firefox. Alas, the interface is the crappiest I've ever used. It makes AT&T-Yahoo e-mail look good by comparison. The crappiness is thanks to Excite!'s decision to let these guys take over their system. They contract with them, apparently paying the Blue Tie boys (don't they even know that truly accomplished geeks will have nothing to do with ties?) to host their e-mail and other services. Whatever Excite! is paying, it's too much. I don't have to pay anything for it, and it's still too much for me! Now I have to go to the trouble of changing e-mail addresses at several web sites. I guess it's high time I set up a G-mail account, huh?
