Splendid clouds and bright sunshine combined with crisp air are a glory of the season. I had to enjoy them, and the sight of sunlit smoke curling above chimneys, while I could, because the clouds will be gone tomorrow and the crisp air will begin wilting Wednesday. It won't wilt a lot— it will just be salad bar lettuce as opposed to freshly picked lettuce— but mid-sixties is about as warm as an average day in March should be, and it's still only January. There probably won't even be any wind chill, as today's brisk breezes will likely be gone. And just last night the lid of my wheelie bin, still wet with evening rain, froze shut! Now I might as well break out the sunblock. January, come back! We need you!
