Late Again

I'm going to miss the overcast days when summer comes. Of course, smoke from wildfires creates an overcast of sorts, but it just isn't the same. It doesn't smell good, for one thing. Today smelled very good. There was grass and pine and a hint of damp. Tonight smells pretty good, too, and the frogs are croaking again. The potential for rain tomorrow still exists, and that will smell even better if it arrives. There could be rain Monday, too.

In other news, there is no other news. There's been lots of tidying up of the house, but that's not news. That happens every year about this time. I have to make room for all that fresh spring air I'll soon be letting in. It's time consuming, but totally worth it.

Hot shower now, and anticipation of cool showers tomorrow.

Oh, and gray cat didn't show up today. He did eat two whole bowls of food yesterday, though, so maybe he's just gotten logy.

there used to be expanses of brush around town where you could hear peeper frogs in spring, but developers have mowed down and paved over just about all the wetland areas over the years. (they'll go to hell for this.) i miss the frogs.

We used to get tree frogs here, but I haven't seen one in years. Now and then, one would come into the house. They liked to hang out in the house plant pots. Instead of a croak they would make a soft, high-pitched whistle. They were cute.
