Song birds competed with wind all the blustery afternoon. The birds won for volume and the wind for persistence. Clouds might be said to have competed with sun, but I saw this more as a cooperative effort to make the day glorious. It worked.

Alas, I later discovered that the Google Maps Street View feature now has a full-screen mode. I have no idea how long this has been the case, but I'm glad I didn't discover it sooner. Now I am doomed to look at full screen street views day and night, and have no time for any other activities until I recover from the obsession— should that day ever come. Farewell, rest of the Internets! It's been fun!

google maps really is revolutionizing the world. not to say violating people's privacy right and left. (adulterers caught in the act? squished deer! drunks barfing on the street!) i'll have to go look at it in full-screen glory.

If Google announced when its street view camera trucks were going to be in a particular place, many people would probably flock there hoping to be put on display. It would be like having a box at the opera was for rich people in the 19th century.

If they knew the truck would be on their street, people would tidy up their front yards, maybe slap a coat of paint on the house. Google could single-handedly bring about a boom in home improvement, and stimulate the garment industry as well since everybody would want to be wearing a nice outfit.
