Bugged In June

The drama continues, the time vanishes, the shortage of sleep waxes like the spring moon. June and moon also rhyme with buffoon. I could write a trite song about myself.

The black and white kitty no longer has the swollen lump on the side of her neck. It was undoubtedly an abscess from some bite or scratch she got in a fight she was unable to avoid. Now she has a bite or scratch on her cheek, and a big swollen abscess there. That is definitely a house cat. If I can't find out if somebody around here owns her, and as I can't have a house cat getting under the feet of the aged parents, who are quite capable of falling on their own and need no such assistance, I think I'm going to have to call animal control to fetch her. She's just going to keep getting the crap beaten out of her if she's stuck outdoors around here.

It's too bad I don't know anybody local who wants a very affectionate cat who may be incontinent and who needs to be broken of the habit of nipping at people who pet her. I don't know if the shelter could place her in a good home, given her behavior. It's very troubling.

Let's see if that rain comes tomorrow. If a thunderstorm wakes me I'll be pissed. If a thunderstorm starts any fires nearby I'll crap.

they have outfits around here who take in stray cats and fix them up for adoption. they don't kill them, ever. maybe there's one of those there?

There's an outfit called TopCats that's supposed to have a trap-neuter-return program for feral kitties, but I haven't looked into it yet. Local animal control is not well funded enough to have a never kill policy. The county is apt to be hit hard by the collapse of the housing market, so budgets will be even tighter in the future.
