There was a call from Hospice this evening to let us know that my dad died at five o'clock. The last time I saw him I knew it was a only a matter of days, if not hours. It's a relief to know that he won't be suffering any more, or just lying there drugged senseless. He lived more than a century, most of it in good health, and had an easier death than many people do. I'm sure he was grateful for that, and so am I.
