My head is stuffed with pollen. I couldn't sleep all night. Before dawn the feral cats romped back and forth across the roof. Then the windows shattered the rising sun and shards of light filled the house. Must remember to draw the shades on that side of the building. This afternoon is my semi-annual dental appointment, too, and I've had only a series of naps. The telephone rings, the trash truck visits the block, neighbors' wheelie bins are trundled about and their lawn mowers roar, and the world makes a general nuisance of itself. Oh, and the screeching blue jays haven't shut up for hours.

Other than that, today is nicer than yesterday.

blue jays drive me bonkers at the best of times. cardinals have so much sweeter a call.

sorry about the crappy night's sleep. i hope you do better tonight.

I think the jays are nesting nearby. They torment the cats constantly.
