The poppies are having more fun than I am. They bask in sunshine while I yank foxtails from around them. I suppose I could take pleasure in the fact that the foxtails aren't having fun. They do get some revenge by making me itch, though I doubt they experience shadenfreud as I do. And I can take a bit of consolation fromt heknowlede that at least nobody is yanking me out by the roots yet. But who knows what might happen tomorrow?

I would like to say that If I'm to be yanked out by the roots, I hope it doesn't happen until after the jasmine blooms. I look forward to the jasmine as compensation for all the sneezing spring inflicts on me.

And May is my favorite month! Just wait until I have to endure the torrid days of August.

august doesn't bear thinking about at this point. it's still chilly here in the mornings, which is nice. hard to believe we're already almost halfway through the month, though.

It's only about five weeks until the summer solstice. I'm glad it's been a fairly cool spring so far, at least.
