Water is nice. I like to drink it, bathe in it, keep the yard green with it. I don't like to run out of it. But, so far, this winter has not been wet enough. It seems that it is being unduly dry all over the place. East coast, Rocky Mountains, southern California. Here in the north, we're only a bit short, so far, but short enough to worry me somewhat. I always look forward to having the lawn sprinklers making fountains up and down the hot streets in July and August. This place looks bad when it turns brown. Rain, rain, rain, rain. Everybody chant! Remember, if California runs short of water, the price of fruits and vegetables will go up all over the country. RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN!

if Californians would stop washing their cars there wouldn't be any water shortage...

the water that runs off lawns into the street in s Cal alone is more than the amount diverted from the streams that would have kept Mono Lake full of water and the Owens valley fertile.... the water diverted from the streams that watered the Owens valley dried it up causing ALL of the crop farming there to be lost and when the land was totally dry, the winds blew the topsoil away and now without topsoil its a desert and the dirt constantly is blown into the air and eastward–––one of the main reasons for the loss of visibility in all of northern AZ and the reason one can't see across the Grand Canyon on some clear winter days when the winds are blowing on the east side of the Sierras... true story
