Rain

It's the second day of rain. It got off to a slow start, with a few hours of heavy mist that was greatly enjoyed by the birds, but by last evening it had become a steady drizzle, and today there has been steady rain with a few brief downpours. The fiercest part of the storm should come tomorrow, and it will taper off Monday.

The birds engaged in much aerial frolic during yesterday's mist, but made themselves scarce today. This afternoon was full of the drumming of rain, occasional gusts of wind, and unhappy cats. Alger turned up, and he yowled loud complaints at me when I went out to feed him. I think he's miffed that I didn't then make the rain stop. He sulked on the porch for a while, then went away. I hope he's found a reasonably dry place to wait out the storm.

Tomorrow I must go out in whatever weather the day brings and shop for groceries. Other, perhaps more sensible, people probably went yesterday or today. Good. The stores shouldn't be too busy. Besides, I enjoy watching the water spray from the wheels of cars on the trip to the store. In fact the only part I won't like will be standing in the rain while loading the bags into the trunk of the car. Shopping on rainy days would be more fun if I didn't actually have to buy anything.

i like it that alger thought you should stop the rain. you wouldn't have even if you could've, i suspect!

He complained again today. He was waiting on the back porch and the minute I opened the door he started a loud, sustained yowl. Cats must be able to do circular breathing, because that yowl went on for a long time. He had a lot to yowl about. The rain has been pouring down furiously since late last night. Poor kitties.
