Summer Hibernation

You'd think that after so many days of silence I'd have something to say. Nope. My brain droops like the petals of the dying gardenias. It probably smells better than they do, but I have no intention of opening my skull to find out. The gardenias smell pretty bad when they start dying.

Heat takes a lot out of me. Beer just can't seem to put it back. Too bad melons have been so expensive this year.

I'm going to go fall asleep watching Jackass.

hello! i'm feeling the heat too and hoping for an early fall. guess it doesn't hurt to hope, anyway.

last week i bought a pricey little canary melon. it was beautiful but kind of disappointing as to flavor. i miss midwestern cantaloupe.

The local Safeway has cantaloupes for 77 cents this week. Not my favorite melons, but that's about as cheap as melons get anymore, so I'll probably get one if they look reasonably good.
