It always gets cold here just before dawn. It's as though the sun arrives just in time to prevent everything freezing. I always liked that story.

why was the night very bad?

The usual reason: my Mom's chronic back problems. She was getting a bit better for a while, but has had a relapse and was awake most of the night. This kept me very busy, and I got nothing done.

think very carefully before committing yourself to be the primary caregiver for aged parents.


(I hope you aren't still being accosted by lunatics. It happens a lot in places where nobody owns the streets. Especially in California, since Ronald Reagan shut down the mental hospitals thirty some-odd years ago.)
