Right now the rain is no more than a soft veil, but it has been furious and splendid at times. Wind has blown, too, and has been waved goodbye by the mulberry leaves. It is surprising how much foliage remains on the trees. The gray day is full of russet and red and yellow, and evergreen green. Hungry birds have given up their shelters and emerged to peck at the lawns. My grass is all green again, too, and sparkles with raindrops. Afternoon is white jewels on plush, and night will be a long song of water and wind. To hell with the gas bill and stertorous furnace, I couldn't be more pleased.

How lovely you make it all sound! We've had wind and rain too, and earlier this evening a sudden and dramatic flash of lightning. Hadn't seem much of that here before this.

Glad you're pleased. :)

Yes, heavy rain. It's been sloppy out on the sidewalk! RIght now there's sunshine, just to confuse me, I think. I grew up with heavy Indiana downpours and strong lightning storms, but it's all wrong here. I'm ok with the drizzle, so long as there is the occasional sunbreak.
