Plagued

The heat has brought a plague of earwigs. They are crawling everywhere with their wicked little forked butts. I went to take a drink from my water glass without looking closely at it and felt something tickling my lip. An earwig! I sputtered, spat, and dumped the water down the drain. Now I'm drinking water from a bottle with a lid. Earwigs are not to be trusted!

Also, I'm terribly hot and uncomfortable and wish the heat wave were over. Now I'm going to go drink an extra beer. Oh, tomorrow is the home of dread. And more earwigs!

Not the first time it's happened, either. I was actually afraid of earwigs for a while when I was a kid, because I thought they were baby scorpions. Now I just find them annoying. They don't transmit diseases and they don't damage anything in the house, but I hate when I find one crawling on me.

I'll have to get some chickens. It would be a shame to let all that earwig meat (not to mention the marinade) go to waste.
