I had all day to get around to doing this and I didn't. All the extra time I had because I didn't have to go shopping ended up going... well, I have no idea where. I frittered it away, I guess. Anyway, I have a headache. so I didn't pay much attention to anything that went on. I'm still not paying much attention. I might try to get to sleep early and see if that helps, though the headache is probably neck-related and thus unlikely to be diminished by sleep. At least if I'm asleep I won't be experiencing it consciously. I'll probably just have weird dreams. With luck I won't remember them.

Sunday Verse

I felt a Funeral, in my Brain

by Emily Dickinson

I felt a Funeral, in my Brain,
And Mourners to and fro
Kept treading - treading - till it seemed
That Sense was breaking through -

And when they all were seated,
A Service, like a Drum -
Kept beating - beating - till I thought
My mind was going numb -

And then I heard them lift a Box
And creak across my Soul
With those same Boots of Lead, again,
Then Space - began to toll,

As all the Heavens were a Bell,
And Being, but an Ear,
And I, and Silence, some strange Race,
Wrecked, solitary, here -

And then a Plank in Reason, broke,
And I dropped down, and down -
And hit a World, at every plunge,
And Finished knowing - then -

My goodness, what a grim poem! I'd never seen that one before. Miss Emily wasn't always a cheerful soul, was she?

I hope your headache does in fact go away after some good sleep.
