Becalmed

There was sunshine today, and there is moonlight tonight. Last night, after the rain stopped I heard a chorus of frogs croaking, and they are croaking again tonight. I missed a lot of the sunshine because I slept most of the afternoon, but the night is mild enough that I've been able to soak up some moon rays. Maybe they'll give me a better pallor.

Listening to frogs by moonlight is very relaxing.

I used to hear peeper-frogs in early spring back in MD, before they mowed down the marshland and built a mall. (Cue Joni Mitchell.) It's a lovely sound.

I grew up near a vernal pond and had frogs to sing me to sleep many nights during the rainy season in southern California. It's a surprise to hear them in February here, but it was routine there.
