The moon is getting bright enough to illuminate the trees and make them cast shadows. That gives me something to look at when I sit outdoors. The jasmine gives me something to smell and the crickets give me something to listen to. I have cool drinks to taste, and maybe one of the feral cats will let me pet it. I'll probably be spending quite a bit of time out there tonight. The low temperature won't be low enough to make the house comfortable for me. I have the fan on, but will still probably have to turn on the air conditioning tomorrow. It's unlikely that the house will get below 74 degrees by morning, which means it will probably hit 80 by early afternoon. I'm hoping that the prediction of cooler nights next week will be fulfilled. Then maybe I'll be able to tolerate sitting at the computer for more than a few minutes. That isn't going to happen tonight. Time for the machine to go to sleep and for me to go back outside.

Hope you get the cooler evenings!

Date: 2014-06-08 08:46 pm (UTC)Portia has never been a big reptile hunter, but Sunni used to snag every lizard and small snake that came in view. I was forever scolding her for killing the little garden snakes who eat slugs.
